VcXsrv is a free and open-source implementation of the X Window System server for Microsoft Windows. It allows users to run X applications on Windows machines without the need for a commercial X server. VcXsrv is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows, and it supports a wide range of X clients and applications.

VcXsrv is easy to install and use. Once it is installed, you can simply start the VcXsrv service and then launch your X applications. VcXsrv Windows X Server : Project has been moved to https://github.com/marchaesen/vcxsrv Windows X-server based on the xorg git sources (like xming or cygwin's xwin), but compiled with Visual C++ 2012 Express Edition. Source code can also be compiled with VS2008, VS2008 Express Edition and VS2010 Express Edition, although current project and makefile are not fully compatible anymore. Versions starting from 1.14.3.0 are not compatible with Windows XP anymore.
